This biking circuit is located in the Doars foot hills and the Kalimpong Mountain region. The terrain comprises Rolling foothills covered with tea gardens, reserved forests, river Valleys, ethnic hamlets, small towns, with exotic bazaars, Buddhist Gompas and monasteries, and mountain terrain covered with forests and terraced cultivation. Away from crowds, it is composed of roads and trails, around picture post card countryside, framed by the panorama of snowcaps dominated by the mighty Khangchendzonga.
This is ideal countryside for mountain biking, and one of the few circuits in the Doars- Sikkim-Darjeeling Hills, which has nature trails with negligible traffic. We have selected undulating black topped roads, steep ascents through a series of hair pin bends, forest trails with rough stony surface, to give you a true Himalayan mountain biking experience. Short treks have been included to enable you to explore the hidden countryside.
For your overnights, we have selected a range of lodgings comprising home stays, heritage tea bungalows, village inn, and the atmospheric Samthar Farm House. Throughout the tour there is a chance to interact with the friendly population, and memorable photo opportunities. Whether it is on the trail, or at halts, we provide hospitality in the Indian traditions, with a variety of meals and refreshments.
